Super excited to be starting up the guitar building program with Mr. McCormack and the class! To start the week off we gathered our tools along with the body, neck, and fingerboard. We also traced our headstock out to get a shape for our guitars
Accomplishments: Traced and cut out excess wood on the headstock and began to sand my fingerboard to get a 12′ radius
Tools: 12′ radius sanding block, bandsaw, belt sander
Learning: Learned how to use a bandsaw and use a spindle and belt to sand away unwanted edges
The sanding process is going slow, but we will get there! I’m nervous that I will mess up when using the bandsaw, but I know that Mr. McCormick will be there to help out! Tune In Next Week!!!
